In the past couple of years the hoodie has had a bit of a bad rep, mainly thanks to the association with thugs and hoodlums as a criminal cloak which was seen by the masses during the riots this summer. However if any item of clothing can shrug off bad press it’s the hoodie.
Over recent months its celebrities that are bringing the hoodie back from the brink with the likes of Justin Bieber, Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith and Kevin Jonas just to name a few who have been rocking hoodies on the red carpet. Having a hard core celebrity following also helps, such as Gio-Goi, whose clothing always has a celebrity endorsement, bringing the fashions to the masses and the hoodie back into favour.
Why shouldn’t you rock a hoodie on the red carpet? They are easy and chic to wear plus endlessly versatile and can be worn for any occasion except well for formal wear however that might just be because no one has come up with a hooded suit yet! You can get a hoodie in any colour you want, wear it on its own zipped up, or unzipped with a tee or nothing if you have a nice a ripped body to show off! Hoodies aren’t just for guys; they have also increased in popularity in women’s wear as well in the last couple of years after all why shouldn’t girls be comfortable as well?
